Pool Maintenance
Great – I’ve got a pool – now what do I need to do?
Having a swimming pool is such a delight – and it should stay this way! In order to ensure this, you need to understand that a large volume of water with lots of bodies in it and exposure to the elements needs to be treated properly. This will ensure the health of its swimmers and protect your investment.
EVERY pool needs a sanitiser (chlorine) – but there are many choices here. The majority of pools being built currently are using a Salt Chlorination system because of its automation and reliability. There are many systems available, but all require a residual (measurable) amount of chlorine - so if you have questions, talk to us.
The pH is the measure between acid and alkaline. The ideal range for a swimming pool is 7.4-7.6. If this is not maintained swimmers will be uncomfortable (red/irritated eyes) and your equipment and pool surface will be negatively affected.
Aside from the standard chlorine and pH check– monthly testing should be performed by a trusted pool professional (shop). We will provide easy, step-by-step instructions in order to keep your pool water safe and healthy.
We are only too happy to perform your water testing for free! So bring your 500ml sample in a clean bottle and pop in to see us at 9 Bennetts Road Mornington.
